Far, far Away...ins Regenbogenland:)
I want to tell you something about my year in South Africa.
In OM we seek to know and glorify God in order to evangelise the world.
In Southafrica we are focused on four areas: Mobilising people from South Africa into world missions, preparing people for world missions with our training programme, supporting missionaries on the field through our personal and financial management and reaching out to the people of South Africa with the hope of God.
Our team which ist called the "A- Team" consists of 20 people from several nations (12 of them are german).
Concerning our trainings base there are about 80 people from across the world settled.
Who exactly is the A- Team and what are they doing?
The African Exposure Team is a programme that runs from september until february. Most of the time will be spent in serving through practical ministry. This includes an AIDS- Training, children and youth ministry training, evangelism and many outreaches (among other countries Namibia e.g. ).
The aim of the programme is giving participants an exposure to different cultures and ministries in Southern Africa.
From February to July the preparation programme for cross-cultural mission gonna start.
It includes evangelism, Bible Studies, AIDS- Traning, Leadership and personal spiritual development. There is some time spend in the classrom. This time is balanced out with a lot of practical hands-on experience. Everything that is taught in the classrom is aimed to be implemented in real life.
Exciting, isn't it? I cannot await my departure. My train leave on August, 10 th.
You are welcome to join my leaving;-)
